Q: What type of groups does GWoB help?

A: We donate computers and related technology to schools, clinics, orphanages, and other charitable non-governmental organizations in developing countries.

Q: Why donate technology when basic necessities are often in short supply? Aren't medicine, food, and shelter more important?

A: Yes, all those things ARE more important. We are simply trying to use the skills we have to help people. We see technology and network connectivity as generally empowering people and possibly providing opportunities that would otherwise be unavailable.

Q: Why does GWoB only donate internationally?

A: There are already a number of charitable technology groups within the U.S. that focus on domestic donations.

Q: Where do the computers come from?

A: Some are donated by individuals and other non-profit organizations, but most of our equipment has been donated corporations. Looking at our Thank You page will give a decent idea of where we get equipment.
